National Panda Day March 16 2025. Here at the smithsonian’s national zoo’s asia trail exhibit, we are celebrating with giant pandas mei xiang and tian tian, as well as our red. National panda day is annually celebrated on march 16th to raise awareness about the conservation & protection of giant pandas conservation efforts to save them.

This day has been around since 2000, when it was created to raise awareness of the adorable panda. The giant panda family tree photo gallery invites visitors to explore the zoo’s successful giant panda breeding program and follow how cubs born at the zoo are contributing.
